Our Growth Fund is the most aggressive of the Utopia Funds. In seeking to achieve higher returns, the Fund will be more volatile and subject to greater risks than the other Utopia Funds. You may consider investing in the Growth Fund if you have a higher tolerance for risk and an investment horizon of at least ten years. For example, younger investors or long-term retirement plan investors may find the Fund’s longer term investment horizon a good match for their planned goals. As you near retirement or the point at which you need the return of principal or gains on your investment, you may consider exchanging your shares of the Fund for shares of another Utopia Fund free of charges and fees.
The Utopia Growth Fund is designed for investors who:
- primarily seek absolute total (positive) returns
- are not speculators or seeking an investment whose goal seeks to outperform a particular broad-based securities index or peer group
- are tolerant of the increased risks and volatility associated with a global investment portfolio that may emphasize equity investments like stocks and convertibles
- are patient long-term investors with an investment horizon of at least ten years
The Utopia Growth Fund shares common objectives and philosophy with the other three Utopia Funds. The Funds are collectively designed to meet a wide range of needs and risk profiles for investors seeking long-term absolute total return (i.e., positive returns).
Each Utopia Fund invests in equity (stocks and convertibles) and fixed income (bonds and cash equivalents) securities. However, each Fund’s strategy emphasizes equity and fixed income investments to a different extent. Each Fund also seeks to limit its downside volatility in any year to a different extent.
